Last night, UConn Professor, Author, Speaker, and Columnist Gina Barreca graced the UConn Co-Op Bookstore stage to do a reading of her latest book titled, If You Lean In, Will Men Just Look Down Your Blouse? Questions and Thoughts for Loud, Smart, Women in Turbulent Times.
After some extra chairs were added to accommodate the crowd that had shown up in support of their favorite author, or favorite columnist, or favorite British Literature teacher, Gina began a laugh-out-loud funny reading of her new book.
However, Gina read a few chapters that are very close to the heart, explaining that this book is different in its inclusion of several personal and touching pieces. She mentioned that some of what she writes for columns can be a bit glib, but that this book often strays from that tone.
Following the reading–which had everyone clapping as Gina left the stage–Gina did a book signing for those interested . . .
