Calling all collegiettes! Do you have an opinion on workplace inequality? Are you critical of our government’s inability to close the wage gap?
These issues are incredibly prevalent in our nation today, and the brilliant minds behind GenFKD (Generation: Financial Knowledge Development) are bringing the conversation to Penn State.
GenFKD, whose mission is to educate millennials about self-sufficiency, finance and the economy, will be hosting Oppression to Opportunity: Workplace Inequality this Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. in 362 Willard.
The event will feature an interactive panel of professors and young professionals to discuss how minorities and women can share an unfair economic burden in the workplace. The panel will include economics professor Dave Brown; political activist Jared DeLoof; Black Law Students Association President Quandi Fambro; American Indian Powwow organizers; communications professor John Sanchez; and Assistant Vice Provost for Educational Equity Victoria Sanchez.
Workplace inequality will continue to be an issue in society unless our generation is willing to step up and discuss what can be done about it. Have a voice, share your insights, and hear from others at this open discussion on Wednesday, April 20. For more information, please visit the Facebook event.
We’ll see you there!
