What year did you graduate? What did you study?
I graduated in May 2015 with a double major in International Business and Marketing, and a double minor in Spanish and German.
What are you doing now?
I work as a purchasing agent for John Deere-Hitachi in Kernersville, NC.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself graduating with an MBA focused in Global Supply Chain in the next five years, as well as receiving at least one promotion within John Deere-Hitachi.
What is your favorite memory from your time at UNCG?
I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Mannheim, Germany for a Winter and a Spring session.  The time abroad really helped to shape my world views and understanding of various aspects of life – and the coursework was challenging enough to keep me on my toes as well!
How did you balance school and other responsibilities in college?
I graduated Summa Cum Laude as the #1 Bryan School undergraduate in May 2015. Â That took a lot of hard work and dedication, but I also had a job (at times two) and a strong social life. Â The most important thing that helped me to balance it all was always remembering to take time to re-energize myself through working out and taking at least one full night off from work and studying to do something fun that deposited motivation back into me.
What advice do you have for students who will be starting the process of finding full-time employment in the coming years?
Focus on your coursework and take advantage of the opportunities provided by Career Services to mock interview and go to Company Spotlights and Career Fairs. Â Your GPA will get you an interview, but you have to earn yourself a job.
For many the thought of graduating and finding a job is stressful. What has been the best part so far?
I’ll admit that the first few months adjusting to post-undergrad life were tough.  However, after a paradigm shift I’ve really settled into a rhythm and can say that the best part has been the opportunity to truly get to know myself as an independent adult.  I have prioritized my work, family, social life, and finances, and through my personal and professional growth I have earned a company business trip to Japan within a year of graduating.  It’s truly amazing what you can do if you put in the effort up front!
