This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

Oktoberfest

August 13th-October 9th, Saturday and Sunday 12:00pm-6:00pm

I don’t know about you but this is hands down my favorite activity of the fall. I mean, what’s better than delicious fall beers on tap and the mountains? But it doesn’t stop there; Oktoberfest has hiking Mountain biking, zip lining, the alpine slide and much more. There is no shortage of fun up at Snowbird before the season starts, and there is nothing like enjoying your Sunday afternoon off drinking beer on the hill, celebrating German heritage with a bratwurst and the great outdoors.

The Utah State fair

September 8th-18th 10:00am-10:00pm

If this isn’t the perfect date night with your new crush or a night out with your girlfriends then I don’t know what is. Funnel cakes, foot-long corndogs, and kissing at the top of the ferris wheel makes for a pretty amazing night to me. You can see crazy performers, listen to live music, and go on rides until you throw up. You know fall is coming when the state fair comes!

Full moon chairlift rides at Sundance

Dates: September 15th, 16th, 17th  October 13th, 14th, 15th   Time: 8:30pm-11:00pm

Taking the moon lit chair lift ride up  Ray’s run sounds like a pretty good excuse to cuddle up to your fall crush. Flying through the sky on the chairlifts enjoying good conversation, the full moon, and a sky full of stars. What could be more romantic?

Canyon drives and hikes

Canyon drives in the fall are an absolute favorite! Roll your windows down, and turn the heat up as you glide up the mountain past the colorful leaves. It also gives you the perfect excuse to explore a new trail up one of the beautiful canyons of Utah while enjoying the radiating colors of the changing trees.

Ride a bull, get lost in a corn maze, or go through a haunted house. Whatever you are going to do, you’re guaranteed to have a good time. Although this place may have a bit of a childish feel, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time enjoying classic fall activities at Cornbelly’s.

Utah Utes football games

September 1st- November 19th (last home game)

If you are a future, current, or past Ute, you know that football season is your favorite time of the year. For many, these are some of your favorite memories of your college career. Tailgating all day with your friends, and cheering on the Utes in sun, rain, and sometimes even snow is a sure way to show some Ute pride. As a school that is lucky enough to have an amazing football team, they are equally as lucky to have one of the best student sections in the nation to cheer them on. With the MUSS having one of the largest student sections in the U.S. selling out early every single year. It’s clear that the football team would not be the same without it’s cheering fans!
