My Freshman year at Xavier I lived in Brockman Hall. This experience definitely shaped my first year because of all of the lasting friendships and fun experiences I had. Whether it was making a Kim Kardashian snowman with my hall mates or having late night conversations on the stoop, I can honesty say my best freshman year experiences were in Brockman.
1. It is the most social dorm on campus.
Most Brockman residents always have their doors wide open ready for a great conversation.
2. It is close to Gallagher Student Center.
This means there is easy access to Coffee Emporium, Subway and Ryan’s Pub. It’s also close to the printer, on campus events, and the bookstore.
3. The lasting friendships.
Because of how social Brockman is, I met most of my best friends, roommates and acquaintances in my residence hall.
4. The communal bathrooms.
I know that this sounds really strange but communal bathrooms were a great way to get to know residents from other wings. There is rarely a line to use the bathrooms and the most important reason is that it is the only dorm hall where the bathrooms get cleaned everyday!
5. It is the oldest dorm hall.
This means Brockman is the only community style dorm on campus; it is also the most traditional. You truly get the college freshman experience!
