These are the top three looks taking over this September.

September is finally upon us and I am stoked for everything fall. From apple cider and overpriced pumpkin scented candles (I’m looking at you Bath & Body Works) to Starbucks’ fall drink menu (not PSL’s though – that sh*t wrecks your body) and the return of the no-longer-being-judged-for-wearing-sweats-and-hoodies-everywhere season.

My favorite part? The change in makeup trends! The transition from prim and proper spring and summer looks to edgy fall and winter looks is one of the most wonderful times of the year.

If you’re someone who rolls their eyes every time someone mentions how much they love fall, then turn back now because we’re about to go ~falls~ deep into some fall makeup trends.

But, if fall if your thing then grab a hot apple cider (or a PSL if you must) and read on because it’s time for a September’s beauty wrap up!

Nude Neutrals

Nothing quite says “I have my life together” like a well put together, neutral-toned makeup look. Sporting natural brows with nude tone eye makeup and a ~killer~ wing plays perfectly with dewy skin and a light contour that creates a look that airs on the side of natural.

Pair this with a nude or soft pink lip to really convince your boss/family/professors that you’re a pro.

Product Suggestions: The Estee Edit Flash Illuminator, ELF Cosmetics BB Cream, Tarte Cosmetics “Tartelette in Bloom” Palette, Benefit Cosmetics “They’re Real!” Mascara, Ulta Cosmetics Highlighter in “Yellow Diamond”

All Brown Everything

It’s no secret that the “90’s grunge” look is making a major comeback. Walking hand in hand with that trend is the obsession with a brown/rust tone makeup.

With the return of fall everyone immediately flocks towards warmer makeup (and Starbucks) to embrace the changing season. Incorporating brown and coffee colored tones is the perfect way to switch things up (and match your latte). Paired with a strong brow, you’ll be heading into fall turning heads.

Product Suggestions: Anastasia Beverly Hills “Modern Renaissance” Palette, Too Faced “Chocolate Bar” Palette, Kylie Cosmetics “Kyshadows”, NYX Liquid Suede Cream in Downtown Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics “True Brown K” Liquid Lipstick, Colourpop Cosmetics “Limbo” Ultra Matte Lipstick

Wine n’ Glow

There’s no better way to end a tough week of classes/work/life/lack of tacos than by sitting by a firepit in crisp, cool weather enjoying a nice bottle of wine that you bought solely based on its $12 price point and aesthetically pleasing label.

Because of this, it’s no surprise that wine shades are coming in hot this fall, along with the ever growing obsession of a strong and brilliant glowy highlight.

Due to its attention-grabbing nature, a subtle neutral eye pairs well with a wine lip and laser beam highlight as it doesn’t overpower the face on any skin tone!

Suggested products: Too Faced “Natural Mattes” Eyeshadow Palette, Colourpop Cosmetics “Spoon” Highlighter, Jaclyn Hill x Becca Cosmetics Prosecco Pop Highlighter, Colourpop Cosmetics “LAX” Ultra Matte Lipstick, Jeffree Star Cosmetics “Unicorn Blood” Velour Liquid Lipstick

In the end, makeup is always about being yourself. Seasons change and so do makeup trends, but what you like and how you like to look makes you an individual.

Go forth HC beauties, and slay.
