Fall Adventure Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVWC chapter.

Fall offers us some of the most gorgeous sights of the year. Of course, I’m very partial to fall myself. Oversized sweaters, warm drinks, the transformation of the trees; what’s not to fall in love with?

The aesthetic of fall is unparalleled, which is why you need a worthy playlist to accompany you during your dazzling endeavors as you dive into this wonderful season! I know whenever I go on a nice autumn drive when the trees are a dashing red and everything just seems warm, I love to put music on to complete that scene. Here’s a selection of songs from a wide variety of genres and emotions that are sure to set the perfect journeying mood for you: the Fall Adventure Playlist.

“Junk of the Heart (Happy)” – The Kooks

This first song most definitely reflects the way fall makes us all feel: happy! Let this song take you to a blissful headspace as you blow past those glowing trees.

“Australia” – The Shins

This song is so chock-full of great stuff. It’s constant motion and thrilling pulse is exciting and sure to help you appreciate the amazing wonders of nature you may be surrounded by!

“Folding Chair” – Regina Spektor

Regina Spektor is an incredible, strange soul. One must be open-minded listening to this tune; she makes seal noises for about 15 measures or so. …But they’re good seal noises! I couldn’t imagine any other person imitating a seal in a song better than her. This song coaxes the inner-seal out of us all.

“Cigarette Daydreams” – Cage The Elephant

This song gets a little bit deeper, but who doesn’t love a good, dense song for an autumn outing? You’ll be “driving all night” to this tune.

“First Day of My Life” – Bright Eyes

To slow it down even more, I included this adorable song. These sweet lyrics and soothing melody will make you smile as you experience the great outdoors.

“Under Cover of Darkness” – The Strokes

This tune picks up the pace once again. The Strokes are my absolute favorite band! This tune will widen those eyes to the rhythm of nature and electrify your energy.

“The Way I Am” – Ingrid Michaelson

To add more variety, I slowed it down again to this cute song by Ingrid Michaelson. Appreciate the little joys you’re feeling as your exploration continues!

“Charlie Brown” – Coldplay

This tune adds some adventure to your journey with its epic, feel-good mood. This is about when I start making hand dolphins out the window.

“The Moon Song” – Karen O

This short and adorable song by the always awesome Karen O will be a good one to put your head back and relax to.

“High and Dry” – Radiohead

Finally, we have our closing song by, in my opinion, one of the greatest bands of all time. This song has a mix between that slow and fast-paced energy and, although the lyrics are tragic, the melody is too perfect for that adventure down the road.

Enjoy these songs, your long drives, and the season of fall in all its fleeting beauty! It’s always a good time getting cozy and taking a drive.
