Someone once said, “all good things must come to an end”, and this statement was very true for the closing of this week’s innovative and creative New York Fashion Week. We got to see so many inventive brands create something more than what others might regard as cloth; what they created was modern art in this digital age – much like what Diane Von Furstenberg did with the invention of the wrap dress a while back.

Anna Wintour commented that this year’s New York Fashion Week, “[celebrated] the art of fashion”.

If it was not Tommy Hilfiger and Gigi Hadid debuting their ravishing collection together, Kendall Jenner’s supermodel struts in the corky Marc Jacobs show, or the joyous wonder of a show that was Michael Kors, the 2017 Spring collection LEFT ME GAGGING!

But, for many of us we can not afford the $2,500 Gucci ostrich slippers, the $4,200 Gucci Dionysus embroidered shoulder bag, or the $5,000 embroidered Gucci denim jacket (if you have not noticed yet, I have a slight obsession with Gucci). So, what do we do? Should we just wear last season clothes? Never! There are many ways you can shop around and look like $11,700 worth of merchandise for less.

One website to check out is Zara:

Being a $63 billion company, I am pretty sure that many people know who they are and what they sale but for those who do not know of Zara’s greatness, you must check it out!

Zara, like many other fashion brands, put out new content every Spring and Fall – collections they are called. Many of these collections are composed some nice ass s***.

This Split Suede Patch City Bag goes with a lot of earth tones black. It can be paired with almost anything and could be used as a “fiercesome” fashion staple in your closet.

I speak from personal experience when I say that Zara’s Mini Leather Backpack is great! I like it better than the $13,000 Chanel reptile skinned backpack, and it is the perfect statement when wearing a white t-shirt and black ripped skinny jeans.

Another website I am pretty sure people are familiar with is Asos:

They have an amazing sales section that never ends, and most of their stuff on sale are items you can recycle and reuse for the next season.

These knee high boots with the chunky heel have been a thing since the 90’s and, as of late, have really become more prominent. They are great when you want to make a statement but stay low-key. Pair it with an oversized sweater, or a black over-sized t-shirt.

If I leave you with anything, I leave you with this: you can have stylish clothes and clothes from every designer in the world but, if you do not know how to pair it then your closet is useless. Also, never let other’s fashion define you because you can have a limited edition t-shirt but I am certain that six other people in the vicinity will have the same exact shirt. Always be true to you, and define your fashion through your own life experiences, because fashion is art and art tells a story. Now go become that fashion diva icon I know you can be! Set trends hunty! #YASSS
