Bloomsburg University offers many fun and exciting opportunities for students to get involved in.  Whether it is clubs, sports, or fairs. Something else that Bloomsburg offers is movie nights.

Going to the movies can be a little harder when you are a college student because of class restraints, not having a car on campus, or needing to work!  But good news, with Bloomsburg’s movie nights you don’t even have to leave campus!  Sponsored by the Program Board, the school offers a movie night every so often in various places on campus with free popcorn.  The movies also are usually films that were big blockbusters in the theaters over the last few months and occasionally even some older films.

Last weekend, the latest Pixar film and long awaited sequel to Finding Nemo. Finding Dory, was shown on a large projector screen on the quad.  Students were treated to seeing this film that had both critics and audiences talking, along with a popcorn machine which allowed students to be able to be given popcorn bags filled with freshly popped popcorn and free refills when they were finished.  Students could also bring their own snacks to munch on during the movie.

While the event unfortunately had to be rescheduled due to rain, the crowd last Sunday night was an impressive turn out and it seemed that everyone watching the film had an amazing time filled with laughter and possibly a few tears.  Movie nights on campus are a great opportunity that the school offers for students to be able to see films for free that may not be out on DVD yet, but also have for the most part, left the movie theaters.

I encourage everyone to come out to support, thank the Bloomsburg Program Board for this generous opportunity, and also have fun with friends or roommates, eat some popcorn, and enjoy their movie night!
