6 Things to Stock Up on Over Fall Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

If you’re going home for fall break, it’s the optimal time to grab some things you may have left behind or stock up on stuff you don’t want to buy at school. Check out this list of everything you should remember to bring back with you come Tuesday.

1. Fall Clothes

Fall weather may not have made its way south yet, but on the off chance the temps drop below 80 degrees you’ll want some fall attire. Grab some cute booties, a pair of jeans (or five), and your favorite sweater.

2. Updated Photos

Print out your favorite recent pictures from the semester so far to update your room decorations. Artifacts Uprising is an amazing website that prints 25 square photos on mate paper for a reasonable price.

3. Healthy Munchies

The start of fall means the holidays are just around the corner… cue the food baby. To hold off the holiday weight stock up on healthy snacks. Dried fruit, raw nuts, Skinny Pop, nut butter, Kind Bars, etc.

4. Fall Holiday Decorations

Halloween, Thanksgiving, and even Christmas will soon be in our sight. If you are feeling crafty, color some pumpkins or turning leaves. Otherwise, buy a few mini pumpkins for your desk. Holiday decorations always keep me in good spirits.

5. Family Time

Unfortunately Thanksgiving break is more than a month after Fall Break. So give lots of hugs, do all your favorite activities with the family and friends at home, because it might be awhile until next time.

6. Fall Necessities

This broad category includes things like your favorite chapsticks, a cute travel coffee mug to hold your hot chocolate and a few pairs of warm Smart Wool socks. You may also need a light winter jacket, a cute beanie (check out Love Your Melon), and some scarves.
