It’s Homecoming and I need all my Hampton women to stay safe. I could drop stats all day, but I think we know the potential dangers that come with college homecomings. So let’s talk about preventing them.

Keep your drinks close

For my 21 and up ladies, this goes without an explanation. Unless you have a clear view of the bartender- a real bartender-don’t accept drinks from anyone. That juice that they’ve thrown at you at the door of a house party? Yeah no. At the very least, ask what it is and fix your own cup.

Uber Everywhere

Its 2016, there’s no need for anyone to get behind the wheel drunk. Split the cost with your girls and keep it moving.

Be aware of your surroundings Some of us, are a long way from home and we need to be aware of that fact. Keep your guard up ladies when traveling around VA to get to the party. According to Campus Safety Magazine, between 20 and 25% of females on campus will be raped or experience an attempted rape. Let’s keep it  safe by knowing where we are  at all times! Also, listen to your gut. If it doesn’t feel right, it ain’t right .

Buddy system

Okay Duh. Nobody likes to turn up alone anyways right? Seriously yall, he’s not that cute, and I promise you the party wasn’t that lit. Please don’t leave your girls behind!

Alright so if you stuck it out and read this little gem to the end, you’re a real one. Be blessed, stay beautiful, and have a happy Homecoming!
