How SLU Supports Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer Awareness Month at SLU:

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and St. Lawrence University is active in

doing its part to raise money and awareness for the cause.

What is Breast Cancer Awareness month? Well, according to nationalbreastcancer.org, it is “an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. [Their] mission is to help those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.” To learn more or donate, check out their website HERE.

On campus this month, it has been evident that the Saints Athletics program has been a leading member in trying to spread awareness. Saints Athletics hosted its 7th Power of Pink Event and, over the seven years collectively, has raised $35,000. SLU has been raising money by selling apparel with the “Power of Pink” theme. The profits go to the Gouverneur Breast Cancer Fund, which assists local families who have loved ones fighting the battle.
