In October we wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, join us in the fight to end Breast Cancer once and for all. We as women need to be educated as much as possible in reagrds to this topic. Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant cells form in the breast tissues. Did you know that 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in her lifetime? To this day, Breast Cancer is the the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women with approximately 246,660 women being diagnosed each year. Every 2 minutes a women is diagnosed with Breast Cancer and every 13 minutes a woman dies of Breast Cancer. Since 1990 breast cancer death rates have declined 34% due to increased awareness, improved treatment options, better screening and early detection. Early dectection is the key! I cannot stress this enough, please ladies give yourself self-exams and if you feel even a little bit of uncertainty about what you may feel, do not hesitate to go see your doctor to get checked out. It is never too early to start this process!
