The Eye Roll Election

During this monumental election, things that one never thought could happen during the election, did. In just a few short days we will have elected the fourty-fifth President of the United States. Who will win? The media will be sure to tell us on Tuesday night, probably making it seem scary just like the rest of the election has been. I decided to take this time to share with you some of the funniest moments of the campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump because at least we know they both could probably be deemed certifiably crazy.

1. “Bad Hombres”

Some of you may be asking yourself, what is a “Bad Hombre” infact, what is a hombre, and why did Donald have to say it in the debate? Here’s a definition for you… Hombre(n): a man… So, what trump was saying pretty much is a bunch of bad guys, and since he decided to poorfully speak in Spanish, we can assume he meant bad mexican guys. I don’t know about you but I like my friends that are Mexican, I enjoy their culture, and their presistence with work and love for their families. So Trump, lets not be a hyprocrite and talk about the “bad guys” when half of America wants to move to Canada if you’re elected because you are the bad guy.

2. The E-mails

Yesterday I decided to erase a bunch of e-mails because my inbox was overloaded. When I pressed the “YES” button to “Are you sure you want to complete this bulk action (delete 540 messages),” I thought to myself, did Hillary Clinton get that too? Then I noticed the little button that said, “do not show me this message again.” Now, I knew if I clicked on that, I wouldn’t be asked to confirm if I wanted to complete a bulk action again. Another thought then came to mind, did this happen to Hillary? Did she perform this once, click that, and wasn’t asked to confirm again? Should we be blaming the e-mail provider and not her? It’s a thought we should consider. However, regardless, r.i.p. to all the lost plans for Chelsea’s Baby Shower, and the foreign policies, may you forever be out there on the Internet because that’s one thing we were always taught… “Don’t put anything on the internet if you don’t want it being there forever.”

3. “Locker Room Talk”

Myself being a NCAA athlete, I spend a lot of time in a locker room. My days consist of hanging with other athletes both guys and girls alike. One thing I never heard them say? What Trump said when he was in his 50s about women. It’s kinda crazy for him to call it locker room banter when he hasn’t been an athlete since high school. I don’t think we should look past this just because he decided to cover his problem with the female population with some lame excuse. He’s going to need a better excuse to tell China why we can’t trade with them any more if he is elected President. I know some kindergarten students that are really good at making excuses so maybe a few kiddos could be a part of an “excuse team” in his cabinet?

4. The Cool Mom

Hillary trying to connect with millenials is like millenials trying to understand what was like to be raised in the Great Depression, it just doesn’t make any sense. For example, have you looked at her Twitter bio? “Pant Suit Afficianado.” We all know the “cool mom” and we really wish Hillary would stop trying to be one. So please, Hillary, stick to yourself and just be you. The you that does an awkward lean on to a chair on national television at the start of the debate, and being a part of a non-profit organization that some how made you a profit. That Hillary is the one running for president, so show us that Hillary.

Whomever may win America’s nomination for President of the United States of America, just know that across the Globe others are laughing at you and not with you.

No matter your race, your ethnicty, or gender, get out on Tuesday and VOTE!

May we all raise our glass and say “Eh” to our neighbors that will be seeing a lot more of us.

I can definitely thank Her Campus for giving me invaluable skills. As a future psychologist, I hope that my articles (and the chapter's) are able to make you feel empowered, motivate you to start a conversation, and be kind. As a hero of mine has said, "If you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up. If you don't prioritize yourself, you constantly start falling lower and lower on your list."- Michelle Obama. Be the change you want to see in the world, and smile. Always smile!
