Fresh Corner: Gainesville’s Newest Eatery, Where You Can Eat Breakfast All Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

Have you ever been walking across campus, and you just have the sudden craving for some breakfast food? But once you have that craving, you just can’t seem to find a restaurant to satisfy it? Well, have no fear because there is a new restaurant on the block that is sure to satisfy all your breakfast food desires!

Fresh Corner is Gainesville’s newest eatery, located on the back of Roberts’ Stadium Club on West University Avenue. Its official address is 16 NW 18th St. Funny enough, it is actually located just a few doors down from Wyatt’s Coffee, which I reviewed just a few weeks ago.

I visited Fresh Corner last week for a chance to try their special menu. I must admit that I do not eat breakfast that often (which I know is bad!), so I was excited about a restaurant that I could visit at any time of the day to enjoy a nice breakfast. (Well, almost any time of the day. Fresh Corner is open every weekday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.)

The menu at Fresh Corner offers bagels, toast, waffles and “bowls.” The “bowls” are made of your choice of “bases,” which can be pudding, yogurt or fruit, and you can also add a variety of toppings. I decided to go for the waffles because I have not had warm, delicious waffles in forever. Rather than opt for the fancier versions, which included Nutella or chicken, I chose the more traditional version of waffles with butter and syrup.

Another note about Fresh Corner: it is a grab-and-go type of restaurant. You step up to the register, order and then wait for the employees to serve your food. There is a couch where you can sit while you wait, and if you really want to sit down and eat, Roberts’ Stadium Club has a hallway that contains chairs and tables.

Back to my order, it did not take long for my waffles to be served. The employees were all extremely friendly and actually brought me my order in a to-go box while I was sitting on the couch.

In terms of taste, the waffles were absolutely delicious. They were soft, easy-to-chew and fluffy. The employees provided me with more than enough syrup, and that syrup was the sweetest syrup I have ever tasted. Better yet, the entire meal was just over $4.

All in all, if you are a huge breakfast fan, I definitely recommend giving Fresh Corner a try. The food is unique, yummy and affordable, and better yet, it is located just off West University Ave., which is perfect for students who are looking for a bite to eat between classes. Enjoy that breakfast food, ladies!
