10 reasons I’m thankful for my siblings

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

1.) They’ve helped me reach maximum mom mode.

From changing diapers, to feeding them during dinner and handling the constant “MOOOOOOOOM” calls. I know now that I have reached the ultimate mom mode and I could “adult” if I absolutley needed to.

2.) They’ve been a constant reminder that I don’t want kids for the next 10 years.

I love you guys to death, you’re my OG chicken nuggets, but you have made me realized that I only want to be responsible for myself for the next few years. If I have a baby craze I know I can come get my fix with you guys and then hand you back to mom.

3.) They help me terrorize my parents and that’s pretty cool.

Thanks for always giving me new ideas from fake spiders to minor pranks and hiding the salt from dad. You guys always manage to keep me laughing.

4.) They’re my best friends when I need them to be.

My 11 year old sister is my best friend on Snapchat, I will openly admit it. She snaps me regularly pictures of my younger siblings.

5.) They tell me when I look stupid.

My sister is convinced she’s a style guru, she’s my second opinion for every outfit option. She’s also an expert Youtube channel watcher, so she can now correct me on my makeup options as well.

6.) I can always count on them for Insta likes.

7.) They are THE liaison between my parents and I.

Parents have their own busy lives to get too. Sometimes it’s just easier to ask a sibling because they’re usually with one of your parents 24/7.

8.) They are my little cheerleaders. (My brother is too.)

9.) They give me an excuse to go see all of the cartoon movies that come out in theaters.

Thanks to them it’s been acceptable for me to walk in to a theater and see “Frozen,” “Trolls,” “Finding Dory,” “Inside Out” and other Disney and Pixar movies.

10.) I can always count on them when I feel alone. They always make me feel loved.

The hair pulling, scratching, bickering and fighting is just our odd and peculiar way to express our unconditional love for one another. I love you awesome nerds.
