Gwyneth Donovan is a mysterious beauty with a focus ready to take on the world. She is a new local makeup artist and, although she is just starting off, her creations are already gaining recognition.
When did you start your makeup brand?
“I have only been into makeup for a little over a year now so I don’t really have a brand yet. I am still in the process of building a good portfolio and establishing myself as a makeup artist.”
What was a defining moment for you when it came to beauty?
“The first time I ever did makeup on someone, that wasn’t just for fun, was for a wedding. I had known the bride for my entire life so, of course, I volunteered. I remember being so scared that I would mess up and just completely ruin her big day, but all went pretty smoothly. Being able to see her so happy with the way she looked made me equally as happy. What made this a defining moment was that I realized that if I can make even a few people feel beautiful because of something I did, that would make me the happiest person in the world.”
What are your goals in regards to your brand?
“My main goal, as far as my brand, is to never stop learning. I want to know everything there is to know about makeup and I plan on pursuing that knowledge. Also, I would eventually like to be known internationally so that I can travel while doing what I love. Lastly, I would very much like to own a salon, once I am established and successful, and follow in the entrepreneurial footsteps of my dad.”
What does beauty mean to you?
“To me, beauty is subjective. Some people like blondes, some like brunettes. Some people prefer tall, while others prefer short. I believe true beauty is when someone is comfortable in their own skin. If you feel beautiful, you are beautiful. Beauty can be found all around us. It’s in the flowers that bloom through the cracks in the sidewalk, it’s in the unfamiliar faces that pass you each day, it’s in the laughs that fill the air. No matter what it is, someone, somewhere finds it beautiful, therefore, beauty is in everything and everyone.”
