At this point in the semester, it’s pretty obvious that just about everyone on campus is ready to get home for the holidays. Since we have to face dreaded final exams first, here’s some tips for making your dorm holiday ready.

1. Garland

In a tiny room, this takes up minimal space and leaves the walls looking as festive and bright as the North Pole. A few Command Strips and some garland and your walls are holiday ready.

2. Christmas Lights

Make your walls merry and bright by hanging up a strand of lights. Try using twinkling lights for an extra festive vibe.

3. Hot Cocoa

Stock up your coffee drawer (we know you have one) with hot cocoa this year. Drink your way through finals with this warm and, hopefully, comforting festive drink.

 4. Christmas music

Load up a playlist with all your favorite holiday jams. As we all know from Elf, “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to here.”

5. Mini tree

If you have one, now is the perfect time to pull it out! A strand of lights and I few bulbs and you’ll be feeling jolly every time you come home.

6. Christmas movies

Take a break from studying for finals and turn on your favorite holiday movie. The nostalgia will take your stresses away, at least for a little while.

7. Ugly Sweater

Pull out your ugliest, most Christmas-covered sweater and wear it to class with pride. Just remember even if you get judged, you won’t be seeing your classmates for a month.

Now go deck the dorm halls and be merry & bright throughout finals week!
