Editor’s Guide to the Best Holiday Food at Trader Joe’s

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

Trader Joe’s is a college student’s best friend. It’s always there for us, during the bad times as well as the good. The food is cheap but ridiculously delicious. Can we just all agree that this is one of the only stores where the frozen food is actually good? And the snacks are awesome yet for a fraction of the price compared to Whole Foods. Now, I’m not saying Whole Foods isn’t great, but do they carry the yummy treats Trader Joe’s has to offer? With over 460 stores and counting in the US, it is one of the greatest things to ever exist.

Hidden on Boylston Street is a tiny underground Trader Joe’s. Don’t let the size fool you because they still carry an awesome selection of products. That being said, hands down the Trader Joe’s at Coolidge Corner is the best! They carry almost every single product Trader Joe’s makes. And if you are 21+ they have a wide assortment of wine and craft beer. Here are some of Trader Joe’s products that you should get during this holiday season:

  1. Joe-Joe’s (There is a Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s for the holiday season, as well as a Gluten Free Version)

2. Mini Dark Chocolate Mint Stars* (Xandie, Editor)

3. Dark Chocolate Speculoos Cookie Butter Cups (There are also the dark chocolate peanut butter cups) (Xandie, Editor)

4. Peppermint Pretzel Slims* (Victoria, Marketing and Publicity)

5. Caramel Cheddar Popcorn Mix (Anna, Social Media and Dana, Editor-In-Chief)

6. Sea Salt & Turbinado Sugar Chocolate Almonds (Madison, Editor)

7. Dark Chocolate Mint Creams (Anna, Social Media)

8. Trader Joe’s Organic Granny’s Apple Granola Cereal

9. Sparkling Lemonade (Xandie, Editor)

10. Tomato and Basil Hummus Dip

11. Garlic Naan (Maria, Social Media)

12. Ricotta & spinach tortellini with red pesto

13. Mandarin Orange Chicken

14. Trader Joe’s (Maitre Pierre) Tarte d’Alsace (Xandie, Editor)

15. Frozen Mac & Cheese (Maria, Social Media)

Please share with us your favorite Trader’s food in the comment section below! Happy Holidays!

Northeastern '19

Hello! My name is Victoria Tan and I recently graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During my time there, I double majored in marketing and finance. You would most likely find me wandering through the halls of a musuem, or exploring different neighborhoods. P.S. I am always on the hunt for the best ice cream spots, so let me know if you need recommendations, or have any suggestions!
