Top 9 Websites for When You Need a Study Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

Welcome back, Warriors! Classes might be slow for now, but we all know that within a few weeks (if you’re lucky) or a few days (if you’re not), you’ll be back to working so hard that the holidays will be just a distant memory. Bookmark these sites now for all your study break needs – your future self will thank you!

Procatinator

When it comes to procrastinating, is there any better duo than gifs and cats? Procatinator combines these two standbys with catchy music to make a stress-relieving power combo. Not a fan of the cat that was generated for you? Don’t worry – you can refresh the page to your heart’s content.

Utah 3D

If you can’t go outside for a walk, why not go on a tour of Utah? This site has multiple different 360° panoramas that take you through Utah’s forests, canyons, and sky views. It’s easy to immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery without ever leaving your chair.

Virtual Juicing Assistant

No study break would be complete without a snack. Use this interactive website to build your own personalized juice blend! Once you pick your ingredients and juice them together, the site will provide you with a recipe to make your creation. There are also pre-made recipes if you need a fast snack.

Radiooooo

Take a musical trip through time and space with Radiooooo! Explore the map to discover new music for studying (or maybe for a party playlist?). Users can also upload music, so if you’re sitting on a music stash that’s just begging to be shared, this is the site for you.

In Bb

If finding new music isn’t your jam, how about making new music? In Bb is a site that makes you the DJ, mixing audio from different videos to create your own unique masterpiece with infinite possibilities.

Finding Home

This beautiful site combines soothing music, lovely graphics, and the promise of adventure to provide the ultimate way to destress while studying. As your ball of light whizzes around a world rising up around you, you can practically feel all of your worries whizzing away with it.

Silk

Silk brings together a few key components that are integral for a mind break: colour, light, and symmetry. It’s easy to drag your cursor around and see the art emerge before your very eyes. You can even save Silk pieces you’re particularly proud of!

Draw a Stickman

You need to help your stickman save the world! In less than three minutes, you have to respond to the prompts given on screen by doing some truly heroic doodling. There are three episodes in total, each with a different adventure for your stickman.

Soundrown

Okay, so now it’s finally time to get back to work. Before you settle back in the studying rhythm, do yourself a favour and set up your background noise of choice. You can even mix sounds to make the ultimate cozy working environment for yourself. Coffee shop and rain? Yes, please.
