My day actually started the day before when I went to bed at 8pm on Thursday to prepare to get up at 3 in the morning on Friday. My Amtrak train left at 5:05am so my dad drove me into South Station in Boston to catch it. The ride felt so quick and before I knew it I was in New York City!

I figured out which subway to take to Teen Vogue headquarters, but I soon realized I had gone past my stop. I immediately got off at the next stop and tried not to panic. From there I used my phone’s maps to try and figure out where I was. Finally I found my way to 1 World Trade Center! Before I had even left my house I knew I wanted to get my makeup done at Sephora. My schedule was way off from the times I had planned, but I was determined to make it there. I started walking the way my maps had guided me then soon realized that the Sephora was much further away than it seemed. By this point my boots had started hurting and all I wanted to do was to sit down. I knew I still had to do my makeup somehow so I found a public bathroom and

fixed it up there. All ready to go I made my way back to Conde Nast where I jumped into line. The Teen Vogue associates checked us all in and we headed upstairs to the offices.

I walked into a huge room where all of the other attendees were sitting. It was so amazing to see everyone just as excited as I was! We waited for a little and then all of a sudden the editors walked in! Elaine Welteroth the Editor of Teen Vogue, Erin Hover the Art Director, Sarah Brody the Fashion Market Editor, Kirby Marzec the Accessories Editor, Terron Moore the Social Media Director, and Melanie Mignucci the Editorial Assistant. We had a panel discussion with them and then a q+a that was moderated by Samantha Fox who is a Social Media Coordinator.

Next we had a cute little lunch with sandwiches, pasta salad, regular salad, brownies, and cookies. After lunch all the attendees were split into three groups where I got put into group three!

First my group was taken to an influencer talk with Amy Levin the Founder and Creative Partnerships Director of CollegeFashionista. It was so great for all of us to get to speak with such an influential mentor and a woman who had the courage to start her own company and be her own boss! After we had the talk with Amy the Teen Vogue staff brought us to the famous closet! Kyle Stiansen the Accessories Market Assistant showed us so many pairs of vintage shoes on the tables and all different clothing pieces hanging on the racks.

The closet staffers couldn’t tell us what they were working on, but I can’t wait until the next issue of Teen Vogue to find out! From the closet they brought us to the Conde Nast cafeteria. You can only eat in this beautiful café if you work for the company, but we got special passes so we could grab a drink and/or food. I tried a green juice and got to enjoy it with a wonderful view.

Our final stop on the Teen Vogue Experience we had a photoshoot! Everyone had their makeup done by Frank L. He made everyone look so beautiful for the photos in such a short amount of time.

The photoshoot was such a fun experience and I can’t wait to see how the pictures turn out! But I didn’t want the day to end.

Sadly the day did have to come to a close so we just had a few closing remarks and then departure where they gave us cute little goody bags with fun things inside! I was so sorry to see my day come to an end, but I was so happy to have had the experience.

After I left Conde Nast I tried to head straight for the subway to catch my bus back, but since it’s me obviously I went in the wrong direction. Eventually I stopped in somewhere and asked for directions and I was on my way! I got off on the right stop this time and started to walk to the Go Bus stop. At this point I was starving so I treated myself to a $13 grilled cheese at a tiny café and made my way to the bus.

Once we started moving I fell asleep almost immediately. Finally I was home around 11pm. It was such a long day, but it was definitely well spent. I was so happy to have had this experience and I can’t thank Teen Vogue enough! #TeenVogueX
