5 Festive Things to Wear on Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

Remember the days in elementary school when it was acceptable to dress head to toe in festive clothing for any holiday? Sadly, those days are gone thanks to #adulting, but never fear! We’ve found ways for you to make your wardrobe just a little more festive this Valentine’s Day without going overboard.

1. Heart Sweatshirt – While this may be on the pricier side, you have to admit it is absolutely adorable. Paired with boyfriend jeans and tennis shoes, this would be the cutest (and comfiest!) Valentine’s Day outfit ever! It’s festive while still being subtle and it can be worn any other day of the year when you just want to feel some extra love.

2. “Love” Choker – Chokers have made a major comeback in fashion lately and this one is totally trendy with its velvet fabric and red embroidery. Pair this with a sweater, tights and a mini skirt and you’ll have a great date night outfit. This choker will add the perfect amount of edge to any outfit!

3. Pizza Heart Tee – Ok, this may be the best shirt we’ve ever seen. If your Valentine’s date involves a large pizza (with extra cheese) and some good wine, you need to order this shirt ASAP. At $9, it’s a steal! This shirt will go perfectly with your sweatpants but is also cute enough that it can be paired with some ripped jeans and booties as an outfit.

4. Heart Tights – Who says you have to wear red on Valentine’s Day? Pair these cute tights with an everyday solid dress and boots for a sophisticated V-Day look. These festive sheers are perfect for you to treat yourself.

5. Sleep Shorts – Throw on these comfy lacey hearts sleep shorts the night of February 13th and you’ll be ready to celebrate the holiday the moment the clock strikes midnight. These shorts are perfect for lounging and studying any time of year.
