Yes, UW is one of the best universities in the whole world: ranked No.11 overall. Luckily for us, UW is serious about its aesthetic as well as its academics; after all, we’re #20 on the Most Beautiful US College Campuses list. How your campus looks might seem shallow, but can make a serious impact on your quality of life – and quality of your college years’ photos. Since 1895, when Denny Hall was built, the University of Washington has become a photoshoot hotspot. (Denny Hall’s French architectural style & towers make it a popular location for graduation photos, whether you’re a high school or college senior.) Though UW offers a million snapshot opportunities, if you want outstanding pictures in the winter time, check these 5 spots:
Â
1. Suzzallo Library
This is absolutely the must. If you take one photo, take it here. From the stairs to so-called “Harry Potter room”, you can take cool shots in a variety of way. Just be careful not to bother anyone – after all, “this is library!”Â
Â
Â
2. Raitt Hall
This is a great spot to show how huge and grand this building is: you can get both the old Raitt Hall building and the trees on the Quad. It’s extra gorgeous with the springtime cherry blossoms (wait until just before spring break!).
Â
Â
3. Miller Hall
Another location near the Quad. The thick, stone built balustrade is a perfect spot to sit like a supermodel on the cover of Vogue.
Â

4. Hansee Hall
This is the oldest dorm on North Campus. Become friends with one of the residents and take the coolest pool picture.
Â
Â
5. Red Square
The heart of UW. Since there are usually many people walking around, try the figure-focused shots. Having Suzzallo Library in the behind would add some more fancy flavor in the snap.

You know, Seattlites enjoy their lives even when it’s cold and rainy outside like the typical winter day…and we enjoy it even more on this beautiful campus.Â
