Lady Gaga Was the Best Part of the Super Bowl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

The Super Bowl has a way of bringing us all together. Or, at the very least, getting the majority of Americans to spend their Sunday glued to their TV screens without a care in the world (more or less). The best part of the Super Bowl this year, though, wasn’t the score of the game. Rather, it was Lady Gaga’s all-inclusive dance party for the halftime show. Here’s why it was our favorite part of Super Bowl 51.

Gaga’s vocals never fail to amaze us.

She threw in some shock factor. And kept it weird, per usual.

She brought the throwbacks, and had us all singing along, or just dancing.

Hello, middle school dance flashbacks, we weren’t expecting you.

Her outfits were majorly futuristic, Zenon would be proud.

Her dancers had her back the whole way.

Literally. And they killed it in their own right, too.

She slowed it down, but kept us intrigued.

Gaga has given us a million reasons to love her until the end of time.

Her outfit change was mind blowing.

She’s a badass woman, there’s no denying that.

She made the same statement she’s been making for years.

“The only statements that I’ll be making during the halftime show are the ones that I’ve been consistently making throughout my career,” Lady Gaga said,  to the New York Times. “I believe in a passion for inclusion. I believe in the spirit of equality, and that the spirit of this country is one of love and compassion and kindness. My performance will uphold those philosophies.”

This land is your land, this land is my land, and that stage was Gaga’s. She owned it.

We watched her live her dream come true.

Gaga has said that she’s been planning a Super Bowl since she was 4 years old.

Gaga, ooh la la, we love you!
