You know him, you love him, you visit him at least once a week. But how much do you really know the man behind the hole-in-the-wall sushi joint accross FIU? Jasmine’s Sushi and Thai has been the place to be for students at FIU since anyone can really remember. From the delicious sushi to the daily specials on sake bombs, afternoons at jasmines have become part of the average panther experience.
- Richard’s birth name was actually Aung Hien Win but had to be changed when he came over to the US.
- Richard is not from Thailand or Japan, he is actually from a country called Myanmar (Burma).
- Richard and his wife, Theingi, whom he met on a trip to his home country have four kids together.

- Before moving to Florida in the year 2000, Richard lived California and worked in a manufacturing company.
