Gigi Hadid X Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Show on Venice Beach

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.

Today, we have a fashion report brought to you by HCPepperdine!

I love fashion shows. Not just for the actual clothes being modeled down the runway but also because of the opportunity to step away from the norm of everyday life. Don’t get me wrong, browsing the next big thing online and seeing it on others are fine and dandy as well, but there’s just something amazing about seeing an entire fashion community come together and enjoy the various festivities that these events have to offer. Last Wednesday, I got the opportunity to take part in the Gigi Hadid x Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Show with HCPepperdine Alumni and previous CC, Michelle Lu. Taking place on Tommy Pier in Venice Beach, it was both exciting and nerve racking as guys and gals dressed in their best to accommodate the high fashion scene and bask in the presence of their favorite celebrities. Just take a look at all the gorgeous models!

Celebrities such as Gigi herself, David Foster, and the cast of Housewives joined in on the fun with a special performance set by Fergie.

Along with the thrill of celebrities and music, the event itself offered a variety of free souvenirs from customizable bags, pins, and candy. There were even a number of food trucks, along with giant crowds of people who managed to arrive early enough to beat the 5pm cut-off time.

The fashion show itself lasted about 20 to thirty minutes, and though I can’t really recall the number of models, Gigi led the scene strutting gorgeously in Tommy’s.

You go, Gigi! Can’t wait to see you at the next fashion show!

My name is Queenie Navarro and I am an Accounting major in my 3rd year at Pepperdine University. On campus, I am involved with the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and am currently interning for College Fashionista as a Style Guru. In my free time, I enjoy going on spontaneous adventures and am devoted to the belief that life is about taking chances and trying everything that the world has to offer. I've shopped 'til I've literally dropped, I used to be part of a punk rock band, I've tried everything from escargot to scorpions on a stick, and have been fortunate enough to travel in over 40 countries before I even turned twenty. Overall, I consider myself to be a very open-minded person and am inspired, daily, by the people around me. One day, I dream of working for the corporate offices of some fashion magazine while hopefully getting to travel the world.
