Top 10 Places for a Foodie on Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

Whether you’re taken, single, or you hate Valentine’s Day altogether, there’s one thing we can all agree on: food. Specifically, delicious food. When it comes to your belly and treating yourself this holiday, Her Campus has got you covered.

For Early Risers

1. Angelo’s

If you’re no stranger to town, you have probably heard of Angelo’s. It has a true small-town diner feel with the best toast and eggs anyone could ask for. Be sure to get yourself a glass of that freshly squeezed orange juice!

2. Fleetwood Diner

If you’re up late Valentine’s day (or the morning after), be sure to stop by Fleetwood Diner for some Hippie Hash—you will not regret it!

For a Night Out with Your S.O. or BFFs

3. Aventura

This place is beautiful, and if you haven’t been here, you need to go (right now). Aventura is a tapas restaurant with an extensive menu and unique but delicious foods. Aventura can cost as much as you want it to—there are inexpensive small appetizers ranging up to more costly meals (and they have a four-course meal) special for Valentine’s Day! If you’re on a budget we recommend patatas bravas and churros with a pintxo or two to start. This will undoubtedly fill you (and possibly your date) and it’s for a reasonable price.

4. Sava’s

Sava’s is known for its great food! Check out their Valentine’s Day specials for an amazing night!

5. Banditos

Banditos has an authentic vibe with bright colors and a fun environment. Check out their Fiesta Combo Plates if you’re really hungry from some California-style Mexican food.

For Staying In

6. Lucky Kitchen

If you’d rather stay in and watch rom-coms in a heap of blankets, then Lucky Kitchen is for you. They have yummy delivery at a low cost, and if you order from EatStreet you can use rewards to save money. I recommend the crab cheese rangoons because they are some of the best in town.

7. Pizza House

Pizza House might arguably have some of the best pizza in town! If you’re a fan of pineapple on pizza, their Hawaiian deep-dish is to die for. Check out their “Late Night Cravers” and “Lunch Special” menus to save some cash, and use the code “FREEDELV” at checkout to waive the delivery cost! Did we mention they also have heart shaped cheesy sticks?

For Your Sweet Tooth

8. Kilwin’s

Kiwin’s is an adorable chocolate shop with an old-fashioned feel. Try out one of their Valentine’s assortments and decide which flavors you like! Anything with caramel is especially delicious, but we might be slightly bias.

9. Amer’s

Amer’s frozen yogurt is a perfect treat for late night or a mid-day snack. They offer plenty of mix-ins (whether you’re looking for something fruity, chocolatey, or even both!) and sauces for a reasonable price. They have two convenient locations near campus!

10. The Cupcake Station

Be sure to stop by The Cupcake Station for some Valentine’s themed cupcakes! Did we mention that their February cupcake menu is the best we’ve ever seen? Lucky for you Valentine’s Day is on a Tuesday, when regular sized cupcakes are only $2.25 and mini cupcakes are two for $2.25. If you’re celebrating on a different day, don’t worry! The Cupcake station offers deals throughout the week!
