3 Easy Face Masks You Have To Try

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

Spring is slowly approaching and we all know spring cleaning (in every aspect) is a must. Many of us are hitting the gym, upgrading our wardrobe with new spring fashion, and even stocking up on swimwear for the summer, but what about new beauty techniques? We all want radiant skin, and implementing face masks into our beauty regimen is how we can achieve it! Face masks are important because they give our skin a polished-clean look. There are so many different types of facials out there and we can have tons of fun creating them at right home with some girlfriends.

Roses Are Red

Roses are the epitome of all things romantic. You can decorate with them or wear the scent as a floral perfume; the uses for roses are endless. Roses contain Vitamin C and the petals contain 95% water. Vitamin C fights aging and water is the staple of life so of course our skin needs it. For this mask you will need about 5 rose petals and a tablespoon of honey. Mash up the petals and mix with honey. Honey is the key to making the petal stick and it aids in soothing the skin! Keep this mask on for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.

Yummy Oatmeal Mask

Oatmeal is a superfood that is packed with nutrients, like biotin, magnesium, phosphorus, and other essential vitamins. Oatmeal is ideal for acne-prone skin because it has anti-inflammatory properties, making it perfect for sensitive skin. Lemon will make a cool addition to this DIY facial because of the clarifying properties. To create this mask you’ll need 3 tablespoons of oatmeal, 2 tablespoons of honey, and half a tablespoon of lemon. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes and wash the mask off with warm water!

Bentonite Clay Mask

Bentonite clay is meant for your skin; it’s ideal for oily and greasy skin because it pulls the metals and toxins out of your body. Bentonite clay is available online at your local Vitamin Shoppe for $7.49. You’ll need one essential oil of your choice. Lavender is a great one to try because it is an antibacterial and detoxifying. Lavender oil can be found at your local Whole Foods or other grocery store/pharmacy. Mix one tablespoon of the bentonite clay with 3 drops of the lavender oil to make a paste. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes and wash off with warm water.

Go ahead and give some of these face masks a try at your next girl’s night!
