For years, women with textured hair have resorted to relaxers to conform to society’s standards of beauty. Fortunately, things have changed and rocking natural hair is at an all-time high. The talented actress spoke with Women’s Wear Daily and recalled her experience with relaxers as she stated, “I went through a phase where I would leave my relaxer on so long, thinking the longer I leave this relaxer on, the straighter it’s going to be.” After suffering from lesions on her scalp due to relaxers, Union decided that it was time for a change. She then went natural in her 20s and has not looked back since.
Union’s natural hair experience has resulted in her teaming up with Macadamia Natural Oil to launch her new line, Flawless. “I want women with textured hair to have great hair days,” she told WWD.
