For all my awkward ladies out there, we really don’t get enough credit. Usually, we’re cast off into the friend zone immediately. Honestly, I should just have a shirt that says “I swear I’m flirting with you”. We struggle a bit more than other girls when it comes to flirting and making moves on our crush. As Lindsey Lohan said in Mean Girls, “we just have word vomit every time”. My word vomit is awful and leads to me saying something embarrassing or just making an ass of myself. My best friend also has terrible word vomit, since she talked to her crush about gilly weed from Harry Potter. Flirting just doesn’t come naturally to us, which for some reason gets us put in the friend zone.
Guys, don’t underestimate us. We may not be champs at flirting, which just leads to a bunch of awkward embarrassing situations, but it’s always a fun time. We’re awkward in an adorable dorky way that you can’t help, but love. You can always expect us to be ourselves. Trust me, we don’t try to embarrass ourselves on purpose with our awkwardness. We’re never someone different, so what you see is what you get. You don’t have to be someone different for us since we don’t care if you’re awkward because we can just be an awkward together. We accept you as you are flaws and all.
We always keep you on your toes. You never know what you’re going to get with us. We’re a bit unpredictable at times, so it’s never a dull moment. We’re also guaranteed to make you laugh whether it’s from us doing something embarrassing or just making you laugh because we’re hilarious. Honestly, we’re not perfect in anyway, but who is? We’re comfortable with ourselves. I could go on about why you should give the awkward girl a shot, but you’ll just have to see for yourself. Next time a girl is a little bit awkward, don’t friend zone her right away because you might end up being surprised by her.
