I was excited to see a dry shampoo included in the latest Her Campus Survival Kit. I’m always on the hunt for products that will make my hair easier to maintain and less of a hassle all around. I have thick curly hair, so most dry shampoos don’t take care of all the slight greasiness of my less than fresh locks, nor do they last long as it takes way too much product to get the desired effect. PSSSST! promised to deliver on 4 different aspects of hair care: freshness, absorbing of oils, long-lasting fragrance, and extending blowouts and color duration. I put all of these claims to the test over the past week along with my need for a product that doesn’t need re-purchasing every 4th time I use it.
“Refreshes and Revives” Boy does it! I noticed immediately that my hair felt lighter and had more volume (not that I necessarily needed it, but it’s still a nice added feature.) It also made my roots feel softer even after washing.
“Absorbs Excess Oils” Check! Even through my thick hair, only a few sprays dried up my roots and left me feeling more confident to actually go out.
“Fragrance Blooms Over Time” I really loved the tropical scent, it stayed strong for about the first 2 hours, but after that, it quickly dissipated. I got tons of compliments on my “perfume.”
“Extends Blowout and Color Life” I don’t personally know anyone with a blowout, but I do have a good friend who recently got her hair dyed a dark brown. I asked her to try out this dry shampoo and see if she could tell a difference. Since it was only one use, I don’t think that it’s all that shocking that she couldn’t, but it’s delivered pretty heartily on all other facets, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it also proved to come through on this promise.
