Delta Zeta’s 2nd Annual Color Run

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

Think of your favorite song. Now think about how many times you listen to it in the car, play it through your headphones while doing homework, sing it with your friends, get ready to it in your room and the way it makes you feel. Now imagine not being able to hear it.

A life without sound is something that over 48 million Americans battle overcoming every single day. Not being able to hear your favorite song, sound, laughter and your families’ voices is something that is easily taken for granted. It’s something we never think about until we are asked: What would your life be like without sound?

For us – its impossible to imagine. For those battling hearing loss – it’s something these people are faced with every day and is life changing.

So ask yourself – Why should a person go through life without knowing what their moms voice sounds like? Without knowing what the dripping of rain sounds like during a rainy day? Without ever knowing what your favorite song sounds like? Without knowing what the world is like with sound.

Efforts thanks to Delta Zeta and The Starkey Hearing Foundation make it possible to give those battling hearing loss a chance to live a life with sound.

On April 9th, Delta Zeta will be hosting a Color Run on ISU’s quad to benefit The Starkey Hearing Foundation and give those battling hearing loss a chance to live a life with sound.

For every $100 raised, one individual will be gifted a Starkey Hearing aid and the gift of hearing!

Come hangout with the ladies of Delta Zeta, register to run and get a free t-shirt, enjoy yummy food and great music and be apart of helping those who can’t hear be gifted with the joy of sound. Participants and donations are greatly appreciated.

Together we can make a difference in the world, together we can make the world hear.
