Here are a few thrift and consignment stores in Massachusetts that are in my Top 9! They aren’t organized in any specific order because they are all equally amazing. Sorry I don’t remember any of the prices, I shop too much!

  1. Lemon Tree Goods      http://www.lemontreegoods.com/

Address: 325 N Main St, Natick, MA 01760

Hours:

Tues – Sat: 11 am – 5 pm

Sun & Mon: Closed

This cute little consignment boutique is so bright and sunny between the many windows they have and the mix of patterns and colors of the clothing, shoes, and bags inside the store. They “specialize in the ‘upscale casual’ style where they “stock the clothing you love to wear: contemporary, comfortable, designer brands in excellent condition”. When I stopped by it was filled with beautiful handbags and like-new designer clothing. I would highly recommend going to Lemon Tree Goods if you love good quality brands, but don’t have the money to afford them. They offer discounts constantly which are extremely helpful for the college shopaholic. Here are some of the items I was able to score in store:

2. Savers     https://www.savers.com/

Address: 500 Cochituate Road Framingham, MA 01701

Hours:

Mon – Sat: 9:00 am  –  9:30 pm

Sun: 10:00 am  –  7:30 pm

We all know Savers. It has saved me time and time again. From finding that unique present for that friend who loves art to getting a gorgeous one of a kind birthday dress. While a trip to this place may take you a couple hours to go through everything on the racks (which you should always do) it is worth it to find those perfect pair of vintage men’s jeans you can cut into shorts. Savers is also a great place to check out if you need new décor for your room. You can find $10 nightstands and $5 hand-painted canvass if you just look. Some thrifters may say that Savers is overpriced, but I think it is well worth the price for the cool items you can find! I would show you all I have collected from Savers, but that would take up 17 pages.

3. The Garment District    https://garmentdistrict.com/

Address: 200 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02139

The Garment District & Boston Costume

Sun – Fri: 11am – 8pm

Sat: 9am – 8pm

By The Pound

Sun – Thurs: 11am – 8pm

Fri: 11am – 6pm

Sat: 9am – 8pm

The Garment District calls themselves “An Alternative Department Store” and I couldn’t agree more. This 12,000+ square foot building has everything you could possibly imagine in terms of fashion. They have racks and racks of vintage 80s sweaters, mod dresses from the 60s, and a ton of band tees. My favorite rack in here was the vintage designers. It was amazing to be able to hold these pieces that inspired so many designers after them. If you want to shop The Garment District right you are going to need a few hours. New items are put out daily “with more than 40,000 unique items at any given time”. Such a great place to see fashion through the decades and be a conscious shopper. The Garment District also features a By The Pound section where the name says it all. Here is a little about this tradition that started in the 80s: “Every morning when the store opens we take an 850lb bale of clothing – snap open the wires and let the public shop. On Saturday & Sunday we put out multiple bales. Everything is mixed together – mens, women’s kids – every style and decade all mixed together…You pay by weight, the cost is $2.00 per pound ($1.00 per pound every Friday.)” Here are some pieces that I bought at The Garment District:

4. My Sister’s Closet    https://www.mysistersclosetma.com/

Address: 268 Main Street Stoneham, MA

Hours:

Mon: Closed

Tues: 10:00 – 5:00

Wed: 10:00 – 5:00

Thurs: 10:00 – 7:00

Fri & Sat: 10:00 – 5:00

Sun: 12:00 – 4:00

This consignment shop may be small, but it is filled with designer bags, shoes, and clothing. This upscale, but affordable shop really makes you feel like you are shopping through your sister’s closet. They are always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help you find whatever you need. I always find at least one item whenever I stop by! I’ll let the amazing finds speak for themselves:

5. Global Thrift Store   http://www.globalthriftrocks.com/

Address: 322 Moody Street, Waltham, Massachusetts

Hours:

Mon: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Tue: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Wed: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Thu: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Fri: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

Sat: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Sun: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

When I first drove by this store, I was a little intimidated because of its’ size and I had never heard of it before. A few hours later I was so happy I had stopped in. Global Thrift Store’s merchandise stretched as far as the eye could see and they also had plenty of backup in the basement. They have been in business over 20 years so they definitely know what they are doing. Their pricing system was a little different than what I was used to with each item (shirts, dresses, pants) having a set price. This is the type of thrift store where you really have to commit to digging through the racks because it is worth it! It is expansive so it will take some time, but trust me that one rack in the back could have those pair of palazzo pants you’ve been looking for forever. Here is what I bought on my trip:

6. Wicked Thrift and PopRock Vintage      http://www.wickedthrift.com/

Address: 533 RTE. 28 West Yarmouth, MA 02673

Hours:

Mon-Sat: 10-6

Sun: 10-4

Two amazing thrift stores under one roof! Wicked thrift is the classic thrift store where you can find all of your contemporary items. PopRock Vintage is the go to space for all of your fun vintage hats, costume jewelry, and elegant beaded dresses. The combination of these two places makes for an interesting shopping experience where you can mix and match pieces from the past with trendy pieces of today. Here’s what I’ve found:

7. Antiques Center of Yarmouth     http://yarmouthantiques.com/

Address: 325 Route 28 West Yarmouth MA

Hours:

Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat: 10-5

Sun: 11-5

Wed: Closed

The antiques center is a little different than the thrift or consignment stores. It is rooms and rooms filled with books, posters, decorative home pieces, and old furniture. Every space that can be used in this store is being used to store the thousands of pieces that they have. All of the items in the antiques center either consigned or sold to them so some of the objects are arranged differently than a typical consignment store. Everything is kept together from that one consigner. My favorite things that I have found in this amazing place are a vintage Louis Vuitton suitcase (sadly I was younger and could not afford it), beautiful jewelry from many different decades, and old posters. I love looking through the bins of the posters to find old advertisements or music inspired ones. I have also picked up a new fashion coffee table book almost every time I have gone in.

8. Chic Consignment  https://www.chicconsignment.com/

Address: 44 Main Street, Andover, MA 01810

Hours:

Mon-Sat: 10am-6pm

Sun: 12pm-5pm

Chic Consignment has almost every big brand you could ever imagine. Their beautiful tables feature Chanel bags, silk scarves, and Gucci sunglasses. They also have clearance racks so anyone can afford those luxury pieces even on a budget! They always have new items so I never walk away without something in hand. Here are some favorites:

9. Madison Ave of Melrose    http://madisonaveofmelrose.com/

Address: 523 Main Street Melrose, MA 02176

Hours:

Monday: 10 am to 2 pm

Tues: 10 am to 5 pm

Weds: 10 am to 5 pm

Thurs: 10 am to 7 pm

Fri: 10 am to 5 pm

Sat: 10 am to 5 pm

Sun: closed

Immediately from the window you can see Madison Ave’s many pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes along with their fabulous selection of bags. As soon as you walk in there is always a lululemon rack to check out. They organize all of their clothing by size so it is easier to find something specific to you. Everyone that works in this boutique is extremely nice and love meeting people who live locally. They have their own bruins and patriots apparel that they sell in store along with “Zip Code Envy” t-shirts featuring the Melrose zip code. I’m constantly lusting over the Chanel bags and Dior sunglasses that are in the display case, but if you have money to spend these items are nowhere near their original prices and will save you a lot of money. I love the items that I have found here:
