Why did you choose St. Ed’s?
My great uncle was a big influence, he was Dean of Students here back in the 60’s, and when I came to visit it was just a perfect match.
(sidenote: WHAT that is so rad)
Is there someone in your field that inspires you?
All my professors for sure… Dr. Wasserman especially and Dr. Quinn
And for off-campus just in general life influences are John Muir (environmental philosopher, glaciologist and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the U.S.) and Richard Proenneke (self-educated naturalist who lived alone for almost 30 years in Alaskan mountains)
How are you involved on campus?
I work for the bookstore! I’m also in Topper Radio
Oh cool! What was your position there?
I was a DJ! I was also really involved in prep and planning for events like Goat Fest
Oh and I used to be a part of Students for Sustainability
If you could give incoming freshman one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, like you will not remember the small things from freshman year. As long as you’re doing what you want to do it’ll all work out!
What would you say your favorite thing is about living in Austin?
My favorite thing about living in Austin is the environment; it’s just so creative, environmentally friendly, and people here are really into self-expression, which is so amazing.
Since you’re now over 21, gotta ask what is your favorite Austin bar?
Part of me wants to say Black Sheep, but I’ve gotta say Ego’s, it’s a karaoke bar and it’s great
And finally the most important question… Who has the best queso in Austin?
Magnolia mag mud is SO GOOD, they put black beans at the bottom.
Next time you’re in the bookstore say hi to this lovely lady! You may also run into her somewhere outdoors, she has a wild heart <3
