Top Places To Get Your Beach On

Summer’s finally come to florida, and with it comes beach season. While high temperatures and beach days aren’t really out of the ordinary in Florida, it never stops locals from getting swept up into the summer craze and swarming the beach alongside the tourist population. There is no shortage of beaches in florida.although they all differ in rules location and amenities. In order to find the right beach for you,  Without further ado, here is a list  of beaches around florida varying in location and each with it’s unique thing to offer.

 

Lee County beaches

Lee county offers several beaches including those found in Fort Myers. The beaches close at dusk and offer variety in facilities and recreational activities. Ranked some of the best in the nation for shelling.. Admission to any of the beaches in Lee County is free but parking fees may apply.

 

Pompano Beach

Pompano beach is wide, and consist of 100-150 yards  that run from Atlantic Boulevard to  16th Street. Lifeguards are on duty from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm but the beach itself closes at 11 with park rangers patrolling the area to ensure no one’s there after hours.  The pier however is open 24 hours a day and is great place for sightseers and saltwater fishermen. The charge for sightseeing is 1.00 while fishing is 2.65 for adults and 1.06 for children. Pompano beach permits a myriad of activities although regulations are in place when it comes to where those activities are done.  Surfing for example is only permitted north of the pier, while boogie boarding is allowed anywhere on the beach. No dogs or alcohol are permitted.

 

Fort Lauderdale.

With a history as the place to be for spring break and a ban on alcohol resulting from it, Fort Lauderdale remains one of the most visited beaches in Florida. The official website for the city of Fort Lauderdale does not list a time when the beach closes. What it does state is that fishing is restricted to the hours of 6:00 pm to 8:00 am, with surf fishing only being allowed in certain areas of the beach at the same hours. Pets. with the exception of service dogs are also prohibited.

 

Dania Beach

Dania beach offers many of the amenities mentioned previously including a grill site and a fishing pier. The hours of operation run from 7 to 11 pm although the pier and restaurant are open until midnight.  Dania beach also features the F.A.U. research center, which is the college’s institute for Ocean and System engineering. Established in 1997, the center allows students and professors  conducts marine research and study technological developments in  acoustics, marine vehicles, hydrodynamics and physical oceanography, marine materials and nanocomposites.

No dogs or alcohol are allowed on beach property.

 

Halover Beach

Located in metropolitan Miami just north of Bal Harbour, Haulover Beach is the only beach on this list to host a section of the beach where clothing is optional. It also features an dog part a tennis court and a place to purchase kites to fly at the park. Beach wheelchairs are also  available for rent.

 

Hollywood

Hollywood beach features two things that make stand out on this list. The first is a dog beach opened on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 9 pm. Bicycling and picnicking are permitted within specific areas. Amenities include waterfront restaurants, beach theater hosts and Charnow park, which offers an interactive climbing wall to keep children entertained.

 

Key Biscayne Beach

Located six miles off the coast of MIami, Key Biscayne beach offers a place away from the city life of Miami. Key Biscayne offers the active lifestyle of MIami while giving visitors the option of being in a more peaceful village environment. Amenities include Crandon park which offers eco-adventure tours, nature tours and kayak rentals. Bill bags cape florida state recreation area and Historic virginia key beach.

 

One thing that most people might not realize during their beach adventure is that it is actually illegal to stay in the beach after hours  which vary m location to location. Despite this there’s always those fanatics of the beach bum lifestyle who will try push their luck for a late night stroll at the beach. Those without a home are also among the people that the sheriffs find.
