Beyoncé Just Made Her First Public Statement Since Giving Birth to Her Twins

Despite the fact that she gave birth to her long-awaited twins last week, Beyoncé has remained pretty tight-lipped about her new babies – but she’s finally released her first statement since the twins were born, and we still have so many questions.

For obvious reasons, Queen Bey chose to skip the BET Awards on Sunday night where she was being honored with the Viewers’ Choice Award – but she still had her protégés Chloe x Halle read a statement thanking the audience for her award. (The first we’ve heard from her since giving birth, no less.)

She started by thanking BET for the honor and her mother for inspiring her album Lemonade. “Thank you BET for this award and your tremendous support of Lemonade,” her written statement said. “This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honoring the past, and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve. Thank you to my mother Tina Knowles Lawson for being my biggest, biggest teacher and consistent influence. Thank you to my entire family for so much love. To my team at Parkwood, thank you.”

She moved on to giving a quick shoutout to her fans, all while still giving us absolutely zero updates about the two new members of her family. “And thanks to all the fans, my BeyHive, for riding with me. I love and appreciate you. To everyone at the show tonight, you all look so beautiful and at home, thank you and have a wonderful, wonderful night. From, Beyonce.”

Okay seriously, Bey? That’s all we get? What about updates on the babies? Their names? I’ll just be over here waiting on a birth-announcement Instagram as epic as her pregnancy photo shoot.
