On August 18, singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey took to Instagram to announce she will be embarking on a world tour.
“I just wanted to let you know that we are planning a world tour. So excited. Can’t wait to tell you more,” Del Rey said in the video.
Eight days later, on August 26, Del Rey posted another Instagram video with the caption, “Thanks for an amazing month of shows. Tour dates and video to come.”
Following the announcement, fans from across the globe have bombarded the singer’s social media accounts with questions about where she will be performing. Although no further details regarding the tour have been released, one destination in particular some fans are speculating about is Nashville, Tennessee, known by many as “Music City.”
Del Rey’s ties to Nashville began as early as 2012, where she mentioned the Grand Ole Opry in her song “Body Electric” on the album Born to Die: The Paradise Edition.
In 2014, Del Rey recorded most of her album Ultraviolence in Nashville at Easy Eye Sound studio with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. After its release on June 13, 2014, Ultraviolence debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200, becoming her first No. 1 album on the chart.
That same year, Del Rey performed for a sold-out crowd at Ryman Auditorium, where she took a moment during the set to mention that she recorded the album in Auerbach’s studio nearby.
Since then, Del Rey has released two albums, toured with Courtney Love, and has been performing at shows and music festivals around the world to promote her latest album Lust for Life, which came out July 21.
Hopefully, Del Rey will consider returning to Music City for a gig on her world tour to give her fans a cure for their “Summertime Sadness” as this school year begins.
