Sunday Fun day at “The Miami Flea”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Miami is known as a hub of culture but as a native you realize you really have to look for it, this weekend I found it at Miami Flea. The Miami Flea is a unique experience tailored to those who are looking for a true Miami vibe. Miami flea is not a regular flea market, you can see it as an innovative event that brings all cultures together and allows local vendors showcase their work. From food vendors, shopping and local music… Miami Flea is the place to be. This event is held on the second Sunday of the month and entry is free for all ages!

Let’s talk about how Miami Flea has AMAZING food. From doughnuts, hot dogs, ceviche and even healthy vegan food, the local vendors have something to offer to everyone. My personal favorite food vendor was The Salty Donut. This vendor has artisan doughnuts made freshly every day. The Salty Donut has so many different styles of donuts from maple bacon to guava cheese. This is definitely the spot to try out new innovative snacks! Do-nut be afraid to get out of your comfort zone!

The Miami flea has a lot of street style cultural foods, it is a unique place to try new meals and get exploring, it is best if you go with an open mind. In my opinion street vendors have the best snacks and a great chance for those foodies to blog what they have tried!

The Miami Flea offers live music every Sunday. This past sunday they had a girl empowerment band and a Cuban band play at the event, both very different yet appealing to everyone in the audience. That’s the magic of music, as long as there is love and passion nothing else is important.

If you are looking for unique pieces to add to your closet or home, the Miami Flea is the place to be. Offering a different twist to shopping, all vendors are local business owners with a passion to create beautiful and unique pieces. Whether it’s succulent plants or customized vintage clothes, Miami flea has something for you. I couldn’t contain my excitement as I walked in and saw all the vendors. The passion all these small business owners have is inspiring and the hard work they put into their businesses is admirable.

I bought these amazing statement earrings from a Vendor called Candelario. The earrings are big and creative, and the designer kept customers in mind making the earrings with a very lightweight material. Candelario earrings offer so many different styles for a very reasonable price.

Vintage clothes, Customized jewelry, handmade candles, vintage vinyl’s and more. If you want a place to shop, snack and listen to some live music, don’t hesitate to visit The Miami Flea.
