The time has finally come to Hampton University cafe: Starbucks is now open in the Student Center after being closed down for about 4 years. They have a variety of items of iced coffee, caramel macchiatos, caramel frappuccino, vanilla bean frappuccino, hot tea desserts, and coffee drinks that is on their menu. This is a major opening for students that need their coffee in the morning instead of inconveniently going off campus to get their coffee drinks. However, is this convenient Starbucks on campus worth it?

“My only issue with Starbucks was that my drink was a little watery for me and took them a long time for my coffee to be ready. I ordered a caramel macchiato and I wanted extra caramel drizzle and they didn’t please my order when I am paying full price for a small coffee” said Hampton student Kayla Harvey.

This little Starbucks eatery has been a huge deal for Hampton University students, as they have pleaded for years to professors and administrators for a Starbucks cafe to be available to students.

“I have heard mixed reviews on Starbucks; I have heard that drink prices are overpriced and the coffee drink are just perfect. Honestly, we got what we wanted and now it is time for them to improve,” said Hampton student Chris Johnson.

For my own personal experience of having a vanilla bean frappuccino from Starbucks, I was highly disappointed. My frappuccino drink was really thick and as I drank more to the bottom of the cup, the blend of the ice and the vanilla did not taste satisfying. Also, the line was long and the service took even longer.

You cannot expect everything that Hampton provides us that it is going to be the best. Although, this Starbucks cafe is a work in progress I think it will soon get better service, food, and drinks throughout the years.
