AOII Philanthropy Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UTM chapter.

Alpha Omicron Pi’s Tau Omicron chapter will be celebrating their philanthropy week this week October 18 through October 21, 2017.

The international philanthropy of Alpha Omicron Pi is the Arthritis Foundation. Arthritis Foundation is leading fights against arthritis in the arthritis community. It is hard for anyone to fight arthritis alone, and the Arthritis Foundation provides people with the resources to ease their burdens and reach their goal of enjoying and participating in everyday life.

Wednesday the 18th kicks off the week with a Human Bowling and Minute to Win it Game Series on the front lawn outside of Sorority Village. Teams of five can enter for $10 a team. Friends and community are encouraged to come out to support for $1 each.

The fun continues on Thursday the 19th at the AOII house. Thursday night at 6 pm, Alpha Omicron Pi will be holding a Formal Dress Sale in order to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. The community and campus are encouraged to come out and buy a formal dress or two to support a great cause!

Friday, October 20th the Tau Omicron chapter will be adopting a local philanthropy at Sharon Elementary in order to assist and aide with day to day expenses.

As a finale event, before the UTM football game Saturday, November 11th against Jacksonville State University, Alpha Omicron Pi will host an Arthritis Cookout. The Arthritis Cookout will be held outside the North Endzone of Hardy Graham Stadium. Pre-sale tickets will be available from any AOII sister for $4 each! The Cookout meal will consist of fresh burgers, chips, a drink and a dessert. All the proceeds will benefit the Arthritis Foundation. Come out and support your Skyhawks and the Arthritis Foundation!
