Wallet Friendly Halloween Decorations

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

It’s me, Hannah, here again to tell you about where I find cheap décor for my house. I think I am preaching to the choir by now about how underrated some stores I frequent are, but it’s worth it.

Dollar Tree, Big Lots and Walmart are WONDERFUL places to find inexpensive, adorable Halloween décor to spruce up the inside of your house in preparation for the holiday. These are just eight examples of wallet-friendly décor I found in one outing. Remember, different stores have different products, so yours may have slightly different décor. That means…it’s time to check them out!

  • Eight different styles of garland at Dollar Tree for $1 each. The styles range from purple and silver, to silver with eyeballs, black and silver with skulls and orange with pumpkins. This garland would look great over a doorway, on a mantle above a fireplace, wrapped around columns in your house or wherever else you find fit! There are so many placement options.

  • This decorative bow I found at Dollar Tree for $1 is adorable. It is a black glitter bow with white spiderwebs and spiders. This bow would look great on a door or with a few taped to a mantle above a fireplace.

  • These plastic skeletons are a bit creepy but fit the theme of Halloween to a T! They would look great hanging from a doorknob or the wall. I found these at Dollar Tree for only $1 each.

  • I found solid black mugs at Dollar Tree for $1, then I found a bunch of fake roses for $1 also. For this decoration, I would cut the stems off the fake roses and sit them in the black mug. This could sit in your kitchen, bedroom or living room. It’s a perfect pop of color that still fits within the Halloween theme for only $2.

  • I found this table runner at Big Lots for only $6. It is white, trimmed in black with black spiderwebs woven in and an orange glittery sun with bats flying in the front. It will fit a 72-inch table and it a wonderful little accent piece for dinners.

  • Big Lots has two significantly sized tinsel decorations of a cat and a ghost for only $6 each. These could fit almost anywhere in a house and, might I add, are adorable!

  • What’s Halloween without a few skulls, am I right? The large skulls are $3.84 apiece and the small baggie with multiple little skulls is $3.98 per bag at Walmart. Scatter these around your house to set the theme!

  • Lastly, a pumpkin and a black cat tealight candle holder for $3.41 at Walmart. Perfect to light up at night and will work in every room in your house!

I only BRIEFLY touched on some of the cute, inexpensive ideas I found at local stores in my area. There are so many more ideas out there so get creative and happy Halloween decorating!
