The weather has been changing in Aggieland! It’s sweater weather in the mornings and short season in the afternoons. It’s also that time of year where everybody in your college classroom is interrupting the lecture with their sniffing and constant synchronized coughing. But wait, you have a math exam on Monday morning, a political science text Wednesday, and a ten page English paper due on Friday. Being sick is not part of your schedule. Can you really afford to feel under the weather when you are in the middle of midterm madness? I think not.

The “I’m fine… It’s just a sneeze” Stage You might think that one cough in the middle of the day is nothing to worry about. You think you are invincible so setting up an appointment with the doctor is not needed. You’re fine, right? I mean, if you can pull an allnighter for one exam, a sneeze is no kryptonite. Maybe you just need a night out. Afterall, they say a shot of tequila is good for a sore throat.

The “I need my mom…” Stage At this point, you have cough syrup in your right hand and a box of tissues in your left. You have drank hot chamomile teas in the morning and put Vicks on the palm of your feet at night, but nothing seems to be working. You yearn for your mother, her magical chicken soup that fights any fever away, and your favorite companion teddy bear.

The “I’m dying” Stage You have googled your symptoms and have self diagnosed yourself with an incurable disease. You’ve probably accepted the fact that you have three days to live, so, you’ve told your best friend to prepare your funeral and your eulogy where “she was the best friend I’ve ever had” should be noted down. You probably already started writing your will and have decided not to leave your dogs to your sister since she can’t even keep a goldfish alive for a week.

Word of advice, take care of that sneeze and save yourself all the hurting. Take it from an expert, you don’t want to put yourself through this. #BTHOmidterms
