It finally feels like fall here in Boston so I thought I’d put together a short list of artists you need on your fall playlists right now.

1. Hozier

Every song by him belongs on your fall playlist. His music is the embodiment of fall.

Genre: Indie Rock/Soul

Recommendations: album – Hozier (2014), songs – “Take Me to Church”, “Cherry Wine,” “Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene”

2. George Ezra

He will surprise you will his deep voice and have you listening to his album on repeat.

Genre: Folk Rock/Blues

Recommendations: album – Wanted On Voyage (2015), songs – “Budapest,” “Barcelona,” “Blame It on Me”

3. The Paper Kites

The Paper Kites are known for their ethereal sound, and each song will captivate you.

Genre: Indie Folk/Folk Rock

Recommendations: album – Woodland EP (2013), songs – “The Mortal Boy King,” “Bloom”

4. Bon Iver

The frontman of Bon Iver has described his music as more of a “sentiment” than anything else. I’m inclined to agree.

Genre: Indie Folk

Recommendations: album – Bon Iver (2011), songs – “Holocene”, “666 ʇ”

5. Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran is the more popular artist of this list. His amazing acoustics earned him this spot.

Genre: Acoustic/Pop

Recommendations: album – + (2011), songs – “Autumn Leaves,” “Lego House,” “Tenerife Sea”

6. Sufjan Stevens

Sufjan Stevens has done a lot. He has a ballet score, an electronic concept album about the Chinese Zodiac, and much more. He is bound to have something for everyone.

Genre: Indie Folk/Alt. Rock/Electronica

Recommendations: album – Carrie & Lowell (2015), songs – “The Only Thing,” “Casimir Pulaski Day”

7. Roo Panes

Roo Panes’ introspective lyrics and soul voice should find its way onto your fall playlise immediately.

Genre: Folk

Recommendations: album – Little Giant (2014), songs – “Tiger Striped Sky,” “Land of the Living”

I hope this inspired you to add some new music to your playlists!
