How To Eat Your Way Through Game Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

If you ask any student who goes to or has ever gone to the University of Michigan they will all tell you that game days are by far the best days of the year. However, game days are long. Most students wake up at 6:30 AM for a noon game and between dancing on elevated surfaces, walking to and from the game, and standing during the game (shout-out to the student section), it can be exhausting. That is why what you put in your body is super important. So here is how to do it right.

1. Starbucks

Game day is long. There is also a Starbucks in Ross which is right near a bunch of the tailgate houses. Channel your inner white girls and get the passion tea lemonade sweetened or white chocolate mocha, you will need the caffeine. It also tastes surprisingly decent mixed with Kamchatka.

2. Grilled Cheezerie

That walk to the stadium is long. You will probably dream about how much you miss your mom’s home cooked meals. Luckily at the halfway point to the stadium there is a heavenly restaurant that serves warm, cheap, and quick grilled cheese. Just don’t start eating it until the walk to the stadium to make sure you actually get there.

3. Food at the game

One of the perks of sitting in the student section and getting ridiculously cheap tickets is that you get to stand for the entirety of the game. Protein from ridiculously expensive chicken tenders at the stadium make standing a lot easier, and open the opportunity up to make lots of friends who ask for a fry or two.

4. BTB Burrito

Because that walk home from the game is so long. A burrito with waffle fries inside it and a nice cold coke give you that final burst of energy to make it home.

5. Pizza House

Chances are when you wake up from that post game nap the last thing you want to do is get dressed and go out to eat. Good thing Pizza House delivers food until 4 am and it is great leftovers the next morning too.
