7 Songs For A Subpar Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCC chapter.

Having a bad day? Sometimes you just need those sad songs that just understand your current mood. Here are 7 songs you should listen to on a subpar day!

Thomas Rhett – The Day You Stop Looking Back

This song soothes the soul. It’s a gentle reminder that whatever is troubling you now will soon be behind you, and once it is you should let it live there and move on. You can’t move on without letting go of where you are or were.

Tim Mcgraw – Let It Go

Let’s be real, just hearing Tim McGraw’s voice can turn a bad day good. But, this song makes me think of the quote, “If it won’t matter in 10 years, don’t fret over it for more than 10 seconds”. LET IT GO! Don’t let a bad encounter with someone ruin your whole day! Focus on the good!

Travis Tritt – I’m Gonna Be Somebody Someday

This is one of my favorite songs ever made. There will always be a process to getting where you want to be and to accomplish your goals. When I listen to this song it reminds me to embrace the process and to not get discouraged because one day all my hard work will pay off.

Darius Rucker – Alright

Sometimes life get fast and you can get caught up on all the things that your life lacks and focus on what you believe is missing. Darius highlights the little joys in life like enjoying your favorite music on your radio instead of at a concert, or a simple dinner in your home opposed to a five star restaurant. This song always helps me to appreciate everything I have and to be thankful for those around me.

George Strait – Here For A Good Time

Always make the best out of your situation! Don’t mope around and wish for better, take what you have and be better! George Strait hit the nail on the head with this one.

Billy Currington – People Are Crazy

This song showed how much people appreciate small gestures, it reminds me that simply being kind and selfless can get you far…. And beer is indeed great so grab you one of those too!

John Pardi – Borrowed Time

This song speaks about how we should strive to make the most out of our days and our lives. Take chances and find adventures.
