Secret Santa Gift Ideas for Every Price Range

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Irvine chapter.

December is among us which means if you are not cranking up Mariah Carey, something’s seriously wrong. Although most of us already strung up our holiday lights and put up our wreaths the second Thanksgiving dinner ended, a lot of us tend to procrastinate on the whole gift giving convention that the Christmas season brings. A treasured Christmas tradition i have with my friend group is Secret Santa, a fun and spirited holiday game. This game can become quite costly, as many groups tend to agree to spend a certain amount so that everyone would be on the same playing field. However, no matter what your group’s agreed budget, there are amazing presents at any price range that your friends would love.

Under $10 (or great Stocking Stuffer Ideas)

  1. Bath Bombs

Luxury Lush Pud, Buy at Lush for $7.95

These delicious smelling bath cosmetics are sure to be a hit that will not break the bank. Incorporating both the festiviness of the holiday season along with some much needed self-care after finals, this fun fizzy gift will provide some much needed TLC to whoever receives it. There are so many scents to choose from which you can choose based on the personality of the recipient, and it’s cute designs are in itself its own form of gift wrap.

2. Mugs

Sparrow & Wren Zodiac Mug, Buy at Bloomingdale’s for $10

Mugs are a classic gift that I for one will never get tired of. However, to make this staple more customized and special, look for a mug that exudes the personality of your recipient. It can be the person’s favorite color (which is usually a frequented question on Secret Santa forms) or you can take it a step further and find a mug with the person’s initial or horoscope sign on it.

Under $25

3. Scarves

Marled Knit Colorblock Oblong Scarf, Buy at Forever 21 for $17.90

Although we live in California, winter can still be pretty chilly. This gift is perfect for a fashionista or anyone who loves to be cozy. Huge, bulky blanket scarves are especially trending this season and are perfect for college girls who just want to roll out of bed for their 8 a.m. lecture without the judgment of wearing an actual blanket to class.

4. Makeup Gift Set

Mini Liquid Lipstick Set from Anastasia Beverly Hills, Buy at Ulta for $25

Perfect for any beauty lover, holiday makeup gift sets not only are usually beautifully packaged, but are also an amazing deal. Ranging from lipstick sets to eyeshadow palettes, there are a multitude of options that would be a perfect fit for anyone. If you want to have even more fun with it, there are also some beauty advent calendars which would be sure to make your Secret Santa recipient smile.

Under $50

5. Headphones

Lily England Rose Gold Headphones Over Ear With Microphone, Buy at Fishpond.com for $49.97

If all else fails, it is usually a safe bet to assume that everyone likes to listen to music. No matter if the person likes to listen to hardcore rock n’ roll or pop ballads, they need to listen to the music somehow. Some aesthetically pleasing headphones like these rose gold ones are also a perfect accessory to rock while walking across campus to class.
