22 Times Friends Perfectly Described Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

Finals week. For some, it’s the one obstacle standing in the way of the light at the end of the tunnel, a.k.a. winter break. For most of us, it’s the thing we’ve been dreading since Syllabus Week.

We’ve been putting the thought off all semester, but now it’s finally here and it refuses to be ignored. If there’s one group of people that could possibly describe the disaster that is finals week, it’s the cast of “Friends.”

Here are 22 times “Friends” perfectly described finals week:

1. When you get back from Thanksgiving break and your professor asks if you studied over the break:

2. When your professor says the final is cumulative:

3. When it’s two weeks before the final and your professor warns the class to start studying:

4. When you realize you need a 143% on the final to get an A in the class and accept that it’s not going to happen:

5. When you have 5 finals to study for, 3 group projects, 2 papers, and 2 jobs, you’re running on 3 hours of sleep, you ran out of food two days ago, you have $4.56 left in your checking account, and you’re not sure what you did to deserve all of this:

6. When you look at the material for your cumulative final and realize you don’t remember anything:

7. When your parents ask you how studying is going and you have to pretend everything is okay even though your life is actually falling apart:

8. When you start stress eating to cope with life and try to excuse your behavior:

9. When you’re trying to figure out how to squeeze everything you have left to do into the next 24 hours:

10. When even coffee isn’t helping anymore:

11. When your friend is having a stress-induced breakdown the weekend before finals week and you’re not sure how to make them feel better:

12. When your Netflix study break turns into a Netflix binge:

13. When it’s the night before your first final and you’re just not ready:

14. When the only test question you can answer is your name so you give it all you’ve got.

15. When you have no idea what you’re talking about but have to give an answer:

16. When you get through your first day of finals and need to unwind:

17. When you start taking your test and wonder if you’re in the wrong classroom:

18. When you’re pretty sure you just bombed your final and you’re trying to think of new career options:

19. When you’ve officially hit rock bottom:

20. When you realize you’re only 1 final away from sweet, sweet freedom:

21. When finals week is finally over, it’s winter break, and you don’t remember what you were so stressed about:

22. And finally, when you look at your final grades…
