Super Bowl LII: The Eagles VS The Patriots

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

One of the biggest shocks in the football nation is the Super Bowl lineup for 2018 where the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots will be playing on February 4th in Minneapolis at the U.S Bank Stadium. The kickoff time is set for 6:30 pm ET.

This season is one of the Eagle’s best, as they improved their record to 13-3 tying the best record in the franchise’s history which was made in 2004. They had some setbacks this year with a few injuries including that of Carson Wentz who tore his ACL. But the Eagles are prepared going into the Super Bowl for the first time since 2004, where they previously faced the Patriots.

The New England Patriots entered the season as the defending champions of Super Bowl LI, which brings a lot of expectations along with it. The Patriots have a solid team that has grown up together with Tom Brady, one of the oldest quarterbacks to win a playoff game and their head coach Bill Belichick who has been with them for 18 seasons now. The Patriots have to bring the heat this Super Bowl to protect their title. They are the only team in history to appear in 10 Super Bowls and have a chance to now repeat being Super Bowl Champions for the second time in this franchise history.

This will definitely be a game to watch! Personally I believe 100% in the Eagles comeback and think they will finally walk away with their Super Bowl rings, but thats something only the future can tell.

The halftime show  is being performed by Justin Timberlake, so what better reason to watch if you aren’t rooting for a team or into football?
