10 TV Shows Returning This Spring That We’re Super Excited to Watch

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

The spring television lineup is here and we couldn’t be more excited for all of our favorite shows to come back. We are super pumped to get answers to all the burning questions that we’ve been thinking about for months.

1. Riverdale

Are you team Bughead or Barchie? We all can’t wait to see what the rest of season two holds. Even more so, we can’t wait to finally know the identity of the black hood. We also can’t wait to see if Sabrina will make an appearance in this season. There are many questions that we can’t wait to find out the answer to! The show came back on Jan. 17.

2. iZombie

Are you ready for more of Liv’s shenanigans and mood changes? We certainly are! Last season ended with a bit of a cliff hanger as the zombies were discovered and Seattle has been established as a “zombie city”. Also, we are dying to know what happens with Ravi and the cure! The show comes back on Feb. 26! (Almost a month to go!)

3. The Alienist

We are so excited to see Dakota Fanning in such an adult role. Up until now, we’ve come to remember her as a child actress. According to TNT.com, The Alienist is a psychological thriller set in 1896 that focuses around the hunt for a serial killer in New York. If this is anything like the true events of Jack the Ripper in London, we are definitely interested! The show premiered on Jan. 22.

4. 13 Reasons Why

We are curious to see the direction that Netflix will take 13 Reasons Why. What we do know for sure is that the second season will deal with heavy issues. According to Express UK, the second season will focus on Hannah’s story as there is more to learn there. It’s going to be an emotional roller coaster, but we can’t wait to experience it! It has been confirmed that the show will return this year.

5. The Originals

Season 5 is the last season for the Originals. After a roller coaster of emotions with constant high and lows the show is finally coming to an end. We can’t wait to see what will come of the Mikealson clan, including their youngest member: Hope. It will be sad to see this show end, but we’ve enjoyed the five years it has been on. The Originals is returning April 20.

6. Empire

Empire is returning for the second half of season 4 this spring. This season also featured a crossover with Star. We are definitely interested in the direction the show is taking. We can’t wait to see where Cookie, Luscious and their children end up this season. The show will be returning March 28.

7. Jane the Virgin

What will happen with Rogelio and Darci’s baby? What will come of Jane and Adam’s relationship? We can’t wait to see the quirky and adorable way Jane and her family deal with these changes and life events. Of course, we are partly there for cute Mateo as well. Jane is returning to the CW on Feb. 2.

8. Marvel’s Jessica Jones

The show is finally coming back! After almost three years of waiting, Jessica Jones is finally returning to Netflix for a second season. You should probably re-watch the first season because it’s definitely been awhile. We can’t wait to see what will happen in season two! It will premiere on March 8.

9. New Girl

Are you ready for more laughs with Jess and the gang? This has been on for years and it will never get old. We love Nick, Winston and Schmidt and can’t wait to see more of them as well as Jess and Cece. The show is coming back April 10.

10. The 100

At the end of the last season, Clark was left on Earth as the majority of the gang went back to space when dangerous levels of radiation to return. The show skips a couple years and we see that Clark services with a companion, but how did she get there? We can’t wait to found out! The show will come back on April 24.

We can’t wait to see what the spring season of television has in store for us. Get to watching!
