Ten Shows to Binge Instead of Studying

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CNU chapter.

In the wide world of television shows, there are some key things to know about binge-watching. Be sure to watch a show that requires minimal brain power, and bonus points if you can find one that’s funny. Here are ten exciting shows to watch.

1. The Office

One of my favorites. I’m partial to the seasons with Michael Scott, but that might just be me. Also, I wish I had a Dwight in my life. I feel like that would make things much more interesting.

2. Parks & Recreation

One of the pillars of American comedy. One thing to take away from this: whatever you do in life, be the Leslie Knope (color-coded binders and full force enthusiasm).

3. American Vandal

This show is a crime drama trying to figure out who did the d*cks. If that doesn’t grab your attention, I don’t know what will.

4. Blue Mountain State

The epitome of college. Not really, but it’s fun to watch anyway. Thad is a personal hero of mine, and I find myself referencing him in real life (much to my roommate’s sadness).

5. New Girl

Jess is a wonderful, pure human. Her relationship with her roommates are completely goals, but I have to wonder how likely it is that you could answer an ad for a roommate and not go missing.

6. BoJack Horseman

This show has always confused me, but it doesn’t have to make sense to be funny. I’ve heard it’s a critique of society? I dunno, but the animals walk and talk like regular humans — that’s a… plus?

7. Grey’s Anatomy

Feels, feels, feels. Occasional scenes of grossness, but it’s an iconic cultural phenomenon.

8. Family Guy

Hilarious, slightly morbid, and defiantly inappropriate. This show is perfect for when your coffee hasn’t worn off yet but your paper is finished.

9. Modern Family

Absolutely hilarious with moments of real family issues. Plus, Sofia Vegara.

10. Supernatural

In between ripping your heart out and jumping out of your seat, there are some quality lolz. It gets a bit more complicated during season six, so if you’re looking for minimal brain effort stick with the first five seasons.
